I discovered my inner seamstress today after I discovered that no one seems to sell black cat costumes for Halloween. My son just turned three so it was his first time out. He didn’t seem to believe me when I first told him how Halloween works. You go up to the door and knock on it, then you say “Trick or Treat” and people give you candy. He’s not generally allowed to have much sugar because of the turbo boost. We practised saying Trick or Treat a few times, then we went out.
The first house we went to he just stood at the door after he got his candy, looked at me incredulously, then said “She gave me CANDY!” Then of course he asked me to open it right away. It took like three houses then he totally got into it. We went out for an hour and a half, we originally thought we’d go to a few houses and stop, but then our son was so excited and happy, we just kept going. Every time we asked him if he was tired, he’d say “I NEED MORE CANDY!” Finally he just kind of faltered and wanted to be carried the rest of the way home. What a blast!

Garth Turner’s coming to Toronto and he’s expanded the speaking event so there are more FREE tickets to snag too. It’s November 9th starting at 6 pm at the Hilton on Dixon. I’ve never heard him speak, but his blog is very well written. He’s a lot more pessimistic about real estate than I am but he’s out in Vancouver where the house prices are double what we see here. In any case I’ll be covering the event for everyone for this blog, if you can’t make it. If you can make it, snag your tickets here and wear a pink and green striped shirt, purple pants and a goalie mask, so I know who you are.
